AN INTERNATIONAL PLANET-SAVING COMMITTEE
is needed to prevent global devastation of the climate

Address by the participants of the First Meeting
of the Environmental Eco Sapiens Hamburg Club

28 September 2019, Moscow

After hearing the reports of highly qualified experts, those who attended the meeting came to the unanimous conclusion that all states on the planet are pursuing a policy that is leading to destruction of the ecosystem and, consequently, to irreversible climate change and pollution of the air, water and soil.

The basic principle of a viable state—subordination of human activity to preserving the sustainability of life on Earth—has been violated everywhere. And this is due to worldwide mass consumption.

Humanity can be saved from total destruction by:

• reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which create global warming,
• dramatically reducing, to the extent of totally eliminating, the production and use of hydrocarbon fuel,
• dramatically reducing the manufacture of plastics,
• reducing the manufacture of genetically modified products, which destroy the biodiversity,
• introducing environmentally friendly technologies,
• inculcating an ideology of minimalist consumption in mass consciousness.

In other words, consuming man (Homo consumers) must be superseded by environmentally rational man - Eco Sapiens. 

This goal can only be achieved by joining the efforts of all rational people on the planet. That is why the Hamburg Club is the initiating the establishment of an International Planet-Saving Committee (PSC), the members of which will be honest and unbiased experts from all countries.  

We advise forming branches of the PSC in every country to carry out planet-saving economic activity. The recommendations of these PSC branches should be binding for all national governments.  

This is the only way to ensure the survival of humanity, of all the people of the Earth.

We call on all rational and sober-minded people to join the work of the PSC in order to create a viable and environmentally compatible ECOCIVILIZATION.

We propose meeting in Hamburg on 1-3 March 2020 to discuss the organizational structure of the Planet-Saving Committee and its primary objectives.
